Summer of Hasselblad

Ever since I took a styling and directing workshop with Caroline Tran in April, I had been inspired to try medium format film photography after falling in love with the beautiful tone and exceptional exposure latitude of film. After a few months of watching various auctions on ebay, I took the plunge and purchased a Hasselblad 500c, along with a few rolls of Portra 400 and Fuji 400H to try out. Although manual focusing on the fly and working with a waist level viewfinder were very challenging, I am slowly getting the knack of things with practice. Although I still struggle with subjects that are constantly moving (i.e. Ella), I'm really happy with the results I've gotten so far. Richard Photo Lab did an exceptional job scanning these photos!
